Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2025-11-05T16:50Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
Activity ID: 2025-11-05T16:50:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: -1 (unspecified)
Note: This signature is characterized by an increase in B_total (~5nT to ~11nT) starting at 2025-11-05T16:50Z and is accompanied by an increase in solar wind speed (~350 km/s to ~430 km/s), an increase in density (~4p/cc to ~10p/cc), as well as an increase in temperature (~55kK to ~200kK). This signature undergoes a further enhancement beginning at approximately 2025-11-06T05:28Z, with B_total increasing to approx. 24nT, temperature increasing to approx. 500kK, and solar wind speeds increasing to approx. 550km/s. This secondary enhancement may be associated with a CIR ahead of a coronal hole high speed stream from a coronal hole which crossed center disk on 2025-11-03. It is likely that this signature is the combination of this coronal hole high speed stream and a glancing blow from CME: 2025-11-03T09:36Z. Following the secondary enhancement, B_total began to decrease to approx. 7nT, and temperature decreased to approx. 170kK, while solar wind speeds continued to increase to approx. 600km/s. This portion of the signature is likely associated with the passage of a flux rope from CME: 2025-11-03T09:36Z, embedded in the now ongoing coronal hole high speed stream.
